W2R supports Grant Thornton with Insolvency and Recovery Assignments
With an ever growing reputation in the industry, W2R is pleased to have supported Grant Thornton in the recovery of land blighted by waste, together with the realisation of assets in two recent insolvency cases.
W2R acted as Agent for Grant Thornton in the managed remediation of a large site near Birmingham, ensuring some 7000 tonnes of waste was removed in an environmentally responsible way over a 5 month period. W2R Director, Chris Farmer, commented ‘this assignment presented a number of complex challenges including the sale of assets, protecting the Administrator from exposure to enforcement action by the Environment Agency, pest control and ensuring compliance with environmental law’.
Andy Smith, Associate Director of Grant Thornton commented:
“Based on the recommendation of a property agent we engaged Waste 2 Resource Limited to provide sector specialist consultancy services on two separate administrations of waste transfer businesses.
Their insight into the sector combined with their hands on assistance on issues varying from monitoring a site remediation programme to skip recovery agreements has proved to be invaluable on both cases.
Based on this current experience I have already introduced colleagues around the firm to them on similar cases and would certainly look to engage them on any case in the sector I am involved with in the future”
W2R very much looks forward to supporting Grant Thornton in any future waste management instructions. We would also be interested to hear from landowners, insolvency practitioners and financial institutions whose assets may be blighted by waste Click Here
